While creatures like crocodiles and hippopotamuses will appear when players search with Senu, other animals are much harder to find. This is especially true of herons, whose feathers can be required for the completion of quests in one of the longest Assassin’s Creed games to date. For players looking for heron feathers, this guide is here to help.

Where to Find Heron Feathers in Assassin’s Creed Origins
Heron feathers are the goods that herons drop when they are killed. Unfortunately, Assassin’s Creed Origins world is massive, and finding the areas where certain animals and materials are can be difficult.
When it comes to herons, players need to head towards the riverways and lakes across the map. Herons can be found flying around these waters and even resting on the riverbanks.
In particular, players can find a significant number of these animals around Memphis. The islands to the east of the city are typically inhabited by hippos and herons and players can collect the feathers from the latter with a successful shot of a bow.
However, these birds are relatively quick to fly away, so a predator bow may give players the best chance on a hunt.
How to Use Heron Feathers in Assassin’s Creed Origins
The number of heron feathers a player has on them can be checked in the inventory, underneath the animal goods category. The description of this item hints at Assassin’s Creed Origins’ focus on historical accuracy and mentions its importance in leading spirits of the dead through the Duat. However, as it applies to the game, heron feathers only have a few uses.
Often, these animal goods are required for quests in the story of Assassin’s Creed Origins. In particular, Taimhotep’s Song near the northern section of the Faiyum Oasis requests that players gather two flamingo tongues and heron feathers. Other than quests, players can gather heron feathers for the use of selling them.
Animal goods don’t play an important part in upgrading items, so they can be sold at any of the shops in the game for a particular amount of gold each. Heron feathers will fetch players six gold a piece.
Assassin’s Creed Origins is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
