Ubisoft was also quick to bring up the fact that space in the beta is on a “first come, first served” basis, meaning that interested gamers should probably turn on their PS3’s right now and download the client before they miss out.

We at Game Rant highly enjoyed the cat and mouse gameplay of Revelations multiplayer, as detailed in our beta impressions. While some may feel that Ubisoft should spend more time focusing on the single player aspect of Assassin’s Creed Revelations, one cannot deny the quality or uniqueness of Revelations’ multiplayer, which seems to be a huge step up from Brotherhood.

The Assassin’s Creed Revelations beta was originally open to PlayStation Plus subscribers on September 3rd, and later found its way into the download queues of all PSN users by September 7th. The beta was supposed to end yesterday, September 11th, though one week seems like hardly the ample amount of time to properly test a game. The Resistance 3 beta lasted nearly a month, which ended off with the game receiving  two major patches at launch, both of which have yet to fix a few technical issues present in the game’s multiplayer. While the extra five days of play time may give Ubisoft some more data for the final release, one cannot shake the feeling that this beta is little more than a glorified demo, a title most betas have been given recently.

Whether or not the beta is little more than a demo, in the end one thing is for certain, Assassin’s Creed Revelations will be a high profile title just like it’s predecessors. Ubisoft has stumbled upon a formula that works, and it’s hard to imagine them creating anything game breaking before launch, especially with the state the beta is in now.

Will you be playing the Assassin’s Creed Revelations beta? And if you already have, did you enjoy what you played?

Assassin’s Creed Revelations launches November 15th, 2011 for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
